Bringing Awareness to Food Insecurity on College Campuses

Through her public service, Jamie recognized the ever-present need for food security within the community, focusing on college aged youth - a population that often gets overlooked when addressing food insecurity. In her efforts to shed light on those disregarded, Jamie is committed to making annual donations from Incredibly Gifted Faith Collection to be used to support food pantries and other nutritious food access and resources on campus for college students at Arkansas State University and Philander Smith College, a small HBCU liberal arts college located in Little Rock, Arkansas.

Philanthropy has always been a driving force in Jamie’s service, and Incredibly Gifted Faith Collection combines her passion for public service and her dedication to embolden others to serve God fiercely through acts of goodwill.

Did you know that 36 percent of all college students in the United States struggle to feed themselves according to Feeding America. These food insecure scholars find it increasingly difficult to concentrate on academics when hunger is an issue.

Arkansas, where Incredibly Gifted Faith Collection is headquartered, ranks as the second worst state for food insecurity. That is why Incredibly Gifted Faith Collection is joining the fight against hunger commit an annual contribution to food insecure students or food pantry's at two Arkansas institutions close to our hearts, Philander Smith College and Arkansas State University.

The number of low-income college students in America has increased causing many college campuses to face issues related to poverty for the first time. Hunger among college students causes negative impact on academic performance which leads to poor retention and graduation rates. Arkansas students deserve every opportunity to reach their full potential. Lack of access to good nutrition should not be a barrier to success. Let's do our part to help.
